The Backstage Lot will be the first area which will see significant construction as permits for the employee parking lots and warehouses have been approved. This particular area is right against Sand Lake Road, seen on the right side of the photo above.

This particular area will be used for staging, parking and Creative work related to this significant project over the coming years. When Epic Universe opens, this is where Team Members can park and the backstage areas that run the park will be located.

The parking lot will be off screen to the bottom-right of the above photo. It would be fair to say it’s hard to tell from the above photo, however you’re essentially looking at an area about one and half times the size of Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Below is the same photo, however with estimated labels for the different themed lands of Epic Universe.

The below photo is estimated map for all of the lands for Epic Universe, drawn on top of the development plans for the specific area. The roads that can be seen between each of the themed lands of the park will be for emergency vehicles so that they’re able to gain access1.

With the water treatment located here, individuals have speculated that this may have been of the calculation for place the Fantastic Beasts land in the corner of Epic Universe, essentially, a majority of this land will be indoors.

Maybe an inside land is a way of how Universal plans to get around the fact that the treatment plant can sometimes smell awful!
