According to a recently filed lawsuit (via Florida Politics), a child riding Mako at SeaWorld Orlando got hit in the face by an object from another rider and needed stitches.
The child’s father filed a lawsuit against SeaWorld last month and is seeking more than $50,000.
The Orange Circuit Court lawsuit stems from an incident on Mako when a child was hit in the forehead by an airborne object belonging to another passenger on the roller coaster, the lawsuit said (via Florida Politics). The incident occurred on the 15th March, 2025.
According to the lawsuit (via Florida Politics), the child ended up getting stitches and developed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Anxiety Disorder.
The lawsuit didn’t reveal what the object was or if the other rider dropped it by accident of intentionally. It’s also unknown how old the child was.

The child was transported by Orange County medical responders to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, according to lawsuit (via Florida Politics).
The lawsuit accused SeaWorld of failing to ensure employee were enforcing the rules to keep the riders safe. Ride operators were supposed to do an additional check to make sure no one had unsecured articles on the roller coaster, according to lawsuit (via Florida Politics).
It’s worth pointing out that the child’s injury wasn’t listed on the state theme park injury report, where theme parks are required to self-report all guests’ injuries or sicknesses that occurred on rides if they were hospitalised for at least 24 hours. Update: Update: SeaWorld Orlando released the following statement (via Fox 35 Orlando) in response to the lawsuit:
“The safety of our guests and employees is a top priority and we take these situations seriously. We cannot comment beyond that as this is pending litigation.”
