A drunk man wasn’t sure why his face was bleeding when law enforcement arrived on the scene of an incident at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn earlier this year.

Brent George said he was having a “good time” with a group of people at the Disney’s BoardWalk Inn bar on 25th January, 2024, until they attacked him. He ended up getting hit in the head with a glass cup.

According to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrest affidavit (via WDWNT), George drank three shots of bourbon and a beer at the bar.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office Deputies started investigating the incident, which occurred in the Belle Vue Lounge. George had gone up to a group of people sitting at a table near the bar, George’s friend told law enforcement.

His friend witnessed the incident unfold. Included in that group of people was a female (age unknown) who had Down Syndrome and sat in a wheelchair.

The friend “did not observe what led up to the confrontation and did not hear anything said between George and the other party”, the affidavit said (via WDWNT). However, the friend said he saw the aftermath.

The friend said someone threw a glass at George, someone threatened to kill him, and then George defended himself. A deputy tracked down the group at the table. They said George approached them, mocking the female’s occasional grunts and imitating her.

The female’s mother confronted George and asked if he was making fun of her disabled daughter. This is when the altercation became physical.

George shoved the mother twice. When another woman from the group got up to intervene, George slapped her across the face. This is when the husband of the woman slapped got involved. George punched the man in the neck.

There was no evidence anyone threw a glass at George. “There was no broken glass found on the scene, and it is believed no glass cup was utilized in this incident,” the affidavit stated (via WDWNT).

The fight ended when an unknown bystander grabbed George “in a bear hug and removed him from the scene.”

He was arrested and taken to jail, however, “jail staff refused to take him due to his injuries.” They believed he may have had a “facial fracture.” After the hospital medically cleared him, George returned to jail.

George was charged with four counts of battery and pleaded not guilty back in February. His court hearing on the 13th March, 2023, was cancelled, according to court records.
