Minivan Fire at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

A minivan was on fire in the parking lot at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort at approximately 7:55am this morning.

Kim Kuczmarski Kubitz sent WDWNT photos of the minivan on fire (see below).

Four cars around the minivan were damaged by the fire, according to Kubitz (via WDWNT).

As you can see in the above photo, a plume of black smoke rose above the parking lot.

According to the established outlet, Reedy Creek Fire Department was on the scene and extinguished the fire within minutes. The large plume of black smoke was visible elsewhere at the resort.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort guest Bart Garey posted the below photo of the smoke from a different perspective.

Another guest, Heidi Fritz Miller, posted a photo of the minivan after the fire was extinguished. You can find the photo Miller posted below:

At this time, the reason for the fire is unclear. However, it would appear that there might have been an issue with the minivan itself. No injuries have been reported.
