In a recent thread on Reddit, fans discussed the controversial Fast & Furious – Supercharged at Universal Studios Florida.
FYI: This discussion took place on the fan-run Universal Orlando Resort community page of the social media platform.
User u/SmolSpider_ started the thread titled ‘The fast and the furious “ride” is very disappointing’ with the following:
“If you’re wondering what you should and shouldn’t do if you’re on a time schedule/limit definitely cut this one out of your play. It’s just lame and nothing like you’d expect from something like fast and the furious. You’re in a “party bus” and basically just sit there while a fight happens on the side of the bus. Boring and slight waste of time.
Edit – yes could be okay for family, but it’s loud, decent amount of gun fighting and a few party scenes (as you’d see in the F&F movies) so depends what your kids are into/what you want them to see I guess. There was a girl in front of me maybe around 5 or 6 years old and was scared by the noises.”
Some of the replies are rather eye-opening, you find out what like-minded fans think of attraction. You can read several of them below:
u/rollerCoast11: “Rode it recently after years of avoiding it, the preshow is hilarious thanks to the actors mocking the prerecorded videos. Almost makes it worth the ride!”
u/mrmonster459: “I went into the ride hoping that the internet was wrong about it. I walked in with as open a mind as possible, knowing that Facebook groups and subreddits like this one often exaggerate how bad things are. Like, they also told me Jimmy Fallon was horrible and I had fun on it. But then, I rode F&F: Supercharged, and came to realise that the internet was right. It was every bit as horrible as it was made out to be, and even though I only spent like 10 minutes waiting for it, I still think I wasted my time. It is quite possibly the only attraction in all of Universal Orlando I can quite confidently say I’ll never do again; even other rides I don’t particularly like, like Sneetches*, Flight of the Hippogriff, and ET, I could see myself doing again. But Supercharged is a big Hell no from me.”
u/blackwolf3133: “The problem is that with the premise of Fast and Furious, it would be so easy to make a kick-ass ride without even really thinking too hard about it. Put people in a muscle car on tracks and have it go through a chase scene or a quick heist or something. Just pure stupidity [to be honest].”
u/brickforstraw: “This ride is SO bad that they cancelled a copy in Hong Kong after people complained.”
u/michellemmarie: “Local annual pass holder here who has plenty of time to ride it but still feel like it would be a waste!”
u/crowd79: “The pre-show and queue [are] better than the ride itself. I do the ride once just for that alone. Actually prefer it over the Simpsons ride which gets me sick and nauseous staring at a dark screen, even though I’m a huge, huge Simpsons fan. Both rides are the two worst rides in the park and it’s not even close though.”
