According to a piece by USA Today, TRON Lightcycle Run “isn’t expected to open during [Magic Kingdom’s] 50th birthday year”.
The article contains quotes from Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro. However, D’Amaro isn’t directly quoted on the latest status of the TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster opening timeframe.
According to Blog Mickey, USA Today’s piece aligns with a rumour that the established outlet wrote about back in November. The rumour suggested that construction crews are hard at work to weather-seal the building ahead of a construction pause expected to take place in February.
Multiple outlets have noticed the portal which will take guests riding into the building housing the roller coaster has been closed. As the images below show, a wall has been built directly over the track of the roller coaster.

Stay tuned to Orlando Theme Park Zone for further TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster updates.
