Update: When Spectrum News 13’s Ashley Carter asked Universal Orlando what the seasonal closure would mean for Team Members. This is what the company said:
“Some Team Members will work on the annual maintenance in the park, others may be reassigned to support other areas, and the remaining will be placed on leave during the seasonal closure. These Team Members will be welcomed back to Universal’s Volcano Bay with our current planned reopening on or before March 1st.”
Original Article: Universal Orlando Resort has announced that Universal’s Volcano Bay water park will close for the winter. The “seasonal closure” will start on the 2nd November and end on or before the 1st March, 2021.
Volcano Bay closed with the rest of Universal Orlando in mid-March in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, it reopened in mid-June. The water park changed to a five-day operating schedule last month, which kept it closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The company has said it will use the closure to do annual maintenance on the attractions and select areas of the water park. Additionally, Universal said they will work with people who have purchased tickets for the closed period as well as Universal’s annual passholders.
Affected Volcano Bay guests can visit guest services at either Universal Studios Florida or Universal’s Islands of Adventure or call on 877-801-8720.
