A new permit has been filed today with the state of Florida which relates to the Innoventions East part of EPCOT, which is currently a construction zone.
The permit, which was filed by Walt Disney World contractor Whiting-Turner, lists the work as part of Project G (G – Gamma), with a focus on “foundations for misc. AD elements”.
The above-mentioned contractor is and has done a lot of projects, construction-wise, for Walt Disney World recently. This includes work on Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the forthcoming TRON Lightcycle Run attraction.
Whilst visiting EPCOT recently, Mike of Blog Mickey noticed that construction crews were working on what was left of the MouseGear skeleton.

The work here includes both the MouseGear renovation and the Electric Umbrella replacement – concept art for both can be found below:

It’s fair to say this work is just a small piece of the overall Epcot overhaul project. Stay tuned to Orlando Theme Park Zone for future updates.
