Update: According to WDWNT‘s Tom Corless, The SBC gift shop is closed due to some flooding in the store a few days ago. The carpets are now in the process of being replaced. According to Corless, the shop is set to reopen later this week.
Original Post: Big Top Souvenirs, the Storybook Circus (SBC) gift shop, is currently closed at the Magic Kingdom, according to Mike of Blog Mickey.
The gift shop has been closed for a few days now and it doesn’t look like it will reopen anytime soon. When the Blog Mickey owner and writer asked Cast Members (CMs) about the closure, CMs said that Dumbo threw quite the party, but they’re left cleaning up!
As you might remember, the location was closed back in December 2019 due to a rumoured fire. Sources suggest that “we’re not dealing with fire this time”, but the exact opposite. Some water damage, likely due to a tripped fire sprinkler, is being cleaned up right now and there is no known reopening date.
According to Mike of Blog Mickey, the cleanup could take days or longer from what he understands. As of writing this article, the SBC gift shop is still listed on the Walt Disney World Resort website having hours for the rest of the week. However, it is closed.
