According to Orlando ParkStop’s Alicia Stella (Stella), it’s “in development”.
As well as Super Nintendo World (SWN) land, which was officially confirmed for Universal’s Epic Universe (EU) recently, there are rumours going swirling around that work has recently begun on something in Orlando for another Nintendo Intellectual Property (IP)…Pokémon.
Whilst there aren’t many details at the moment, Stella has heard murmurs about something being designed (developed) that will be based on the Pokémon IP, including the possibility of a Pokémon gym being designed.
With that being said, let’s look (with Stella) at some of the speculation of where we’ll see something Pokémon related show up in Orlando – in particular Universal Orlando Resort.
Expansion Land Beside Super Nintendo World at EU
In the past, Stella has said (in the past) that the expansion land beside SWN at EU is being earmarked for additional Nintendo attractions, and Pokémon is at the top of the shortlist. You can read more about this particular subject here.
Pokémon Land Replacing Woody Woodpecker’s Kidzone at Universal Studios Florida.
Stella says another possibility is that work may already have begun on the rumoured plans of a Pokémon land replacing Woody Woodpecker’s Kidzone at Universal Studios Florida. Stella believed those plans were cancelled last year, but maybe they were just postponing them for a bit so that Universal could catch up on other ongoing projects.
Pokémon Gym – Universal’s CityWalk
Another theory that Stella suggested is a weird one, but a good one in our opinion. What if this has something to do with the closing down of four stores and combining them into one location at Universal CityWalk? Could an interactive Pokémon interactive gym (including Nintendo merchandise), be a possible addition to CityWalk? We think this a great idea Alicia!
You can read more about Stella’s thoughts on the rumour here.
What do you think about this rumour? Do you think work is already starting for something related to Pokémon at EU? Or do you the KidZone plans are back on the table? Let us know in the comments.
