Permits Filed for Possible New Attraction at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay (BGTB) could working on ANOTHER all-new attraction.

BGTB filed permits at the end of 20191 for a project called “BGT Project Jethro”, according to Ashley Carter of Spectrum 13 News. The plans involve demolition and grading work in a 1.83-acre area near the former location of Rhino Rally. 

1: Plans were filed back in November.

According to the documents included in the filing, work would include the “removal of 18,663 square feet of impervious area and construction of 6,944 feet of impervious attraction/walk area.”

An in-depth look at the plans reveals that two new pathways will connect to an existing pathway the area. An existing “story building” in the area as a wood deck and steps that will be demolished.

These permits come as BGTB prepares for the debut of Iron Gwazi, which is set to become the fastest and steepest hybrid coaster in the world. Adventure Island, BGTB’s water park, is also getting an all-new attraction called Solar Vortex2.
