Original Post: It’s fair to say it’s one of the busiest days of the year today at Walt Disney World.
Due to New Year’s Eve crowds descending on Magic Kingdom (MK), the park has just reached a phase closure1.
As of writing this article, MK is in a Phase B closure1.1, however it’s likely that might increase as crowds continue to build throughout the day.

Phase A Closing: The park is closed to guests who don’t meet one of the following criteria listed below:
- Resort guests
- Golden Oak residents
- Annual Passholders
- Guests with Park Hopper tickets or those who are re-entering the park
- Guests with dining reservations
- Guests with Memory Maker
- Guests with reservations for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
(1.1) Phase B Closing: The park is closed to guests who don’t meet one of the following criteria listed below:
- Resort guests
- Annual Passholders
- Guests with dining reservations
- Guests with Memory Maker
- Guests with reservations for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
Phase 1 Closure: Guests will be turned away at the parking plaza if they don’t have park tickets, or have a single day ticket. Guests using Cast Member entrance passes will be turned away as well.
Phase 2 Closure: The park is closed to guests who don’t meet one of the following criteria listed below:
- Resort guests
- Annual Passholders
- Guests with Park Hopper tickets or those who are re-entering the park
- Guests with dining reservations
- Guests with reservations for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
- Guests using Walt Disney World transportation
Phase 3 Closure: The park is closed to guests who don’t meet one of the following criteria listed below:
- Resort guests
- Annual Passholders
- Guests with dining reservations
- Guests with reservations for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
Phase 4 Closure: No guests allowed in the park.
