Walt Disney World Resort’s newest Disney Vacation Club (DVC) property, Disney’s Riviera Resort (DRR) is now open. The décor of DRR, which is Disney’s 15th DVC property, is inspired by the “grandeur and enchantment” of the European Riviera.
DRR has 300 rooms – from deluxe studios and 1 and 2-bedroom villas to grand villas that can sleep up to 12 guests. Distinctive to DRR are the Tower Studios, a space that has a private balcony, sofa, bathroom and a queen-sized bed that can be pulled down when its time to put your head down.
Artwork inspired by Disney Characters as well as photos from Walt Disney’s travels through Europe line the walls inside the resort.
DRR also offers a number of dining location, including the quick-service restaurant Primo Piatto, which offers diners sandwiches, salads and grab-and-go choices; Bar Riva, the open-air pool bar and Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera, this rooftop dining location offers diners pasta, seafood, steak and a collection of wines1.
1: The wines come from France and coastal Italy, just in case you’re interested.
Guests will find walkways, porticos and towers that feature a Mediterranean theme when strolling the grounds of DRR. Guests will have the choice of 2 swimming pools at the resort, offering chairs and sun umbrellas. DRR’s main pool features a winding stone turret slide (fun for the kiddos).
Near one of the 2 pools at DRR is a play area for children called S’il Vous Play. This play/interactive area features a fountain decorated with Characters from Disney’s Fantasia. Guests staying at the resort can take advantage of the Disney Skyliner, which has a dedicated station.
