If rumours are true, Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Animal Kingdom) will be getting an E-ticket attraction in 2024.
What type of attraction you ask? A Jungle Book Boat Ride. Everything we know so far can be found below.
Lets go back to 2018 for a minute! Via the Theme Park Stop podcast, Alicia Stella revealed the initial details regarding this rumour in a video:

“Another rumoured attraction for Animal Kingdom would be a boat ride based on the Jungle Book film. [The ride would be based on the 2016 version and not the 1967 film]
With the film grossing almost $1 billion dollars worldwide and a sequel now in development, I guess it makes sense to bring it to the parks.
Plus, it’s rumoured to utilise the revolutionary ride system currently only in use at Shanghai Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
The new attraction would be built in the expansion area behind Kali River Rapids in the Asia section of the park. The perfect setting for a film that takes place on that continent.
This space was originally cleared when Animal Kingdom was in development for part of the River Rapids ride, then called Tiger River Run.
Although some point in the design process, the plans for the ride changed dramatically, with more than half of its length being cut.
This is now prime real estate for the park expansion, however its been reported internally Disney Imagineers are battling for which park to build this new ride.
Some would like to see it in Animal Kingdom, where Baloo and King Louie have already had a presence previously.
Whilst others1 would like to see it added to Epcot’s World Showcase as part of a new India Pavilion. [Interesting concept].
Regardless of where, it’s starting to look like this one might actually get built at some point. Just not sure which park yet!”

During Defunctland’s Charityland2 8-hour live stream yesterday, Stella somewhat confirmed this attraction will be at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Listen to what she had to say in the video below:

We’re not going to speculate on the details, as we don’t know. So we just wanted to put out there what we know right now!
