Whilst making her way out of the Magic Kingdom through the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), WDWNT’s Catherine Esrock noticed that Mickey’s Gift Station is currently closed.
The gift shop, which tends to operate as a last stop for souvenirs, has black plastic lining its doors and windows. Interesting! The black plastic lining blocks every single window and does not allow anyone to look inside the store.

According to Esrock, there are no signs posted stating the reason for closure, or when or if Mickey’s Gift Station will reopen. Other than the black plastic lining blocking the windows, going by the photographic evidence, everything else in the area looks normal.
No information is available at the moment for the reason for the closure, however it can be assumed that this is a refurbishment to bring it up to date along with the other enhancements made at other Walt Disney World Resort theme parks.
The TTC recently debuted an all-new security screening area which is fair to say is notably void of themeing, so essentially it could be that the store is being reimagined to match the plain beige interiors of most other reimagined stores on property

Stay tuned to Orlando Theme Park Zone for more updates on the current status of Mickey’s Gift Station.
