A Walt Disney World guest landed behind bars after he allegedly snatched Mickey Mouse ears off a woman’s head after he thought they belonged to his daughter.
According to the arrest affidavit (via Fox 35 Orlando – F35O), Mark Robinson was charged with robbery by sudden snatching after the incident occurred at the Magic Kingdom on the 14th December, 2023.
An Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to theme park at approximately 7:30pm where he spoke with the woman involved.
She told the deputy that she was getting off a ride with her child and husband when she heard Robinson, yelling from behind her, the affidavit said (via F35O). The woman didn’t respond since she didn’t know Robinson was trying to get her attention.
This is when Robinson “forcefully” snatched the Mickey Mouse ears off her head, the affidavit said (via F35O). He claimed the ears belonged to his daughter. The woman said the ears belonged to her and she bought them several years ago.
The woman’s husband then pushed Robinson away from his wife, the affidavit said (via F35O). The woman got help from Disney Security Cast Members, who kept the situation under control until law enforcement arrived on the scene.
Robinson spoke with the deputy and said his daughter asked to go back to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin because she thought she left her Mickey Mouse ears on it earlier that day. They didn’t find them.
Later on, he noticed a woman wearing the same style ears that his daughter had lost and that’s when he grabbed it off her head and asked why she was wearing his daughter’s hat, the affidavit said (via F35O).
Robinson was detained and transported to the Orange County’s Booking and Release Center. Stay tuned for further updates.
