Mayhem ensued when twins sisters fought over a TV in Walt Disney World Resort hotel. Once the altercation came to an end, one of the 56-year-old women was arrested and charged with domestic violence for fighting her sibling.
Stephanni Cassidy was staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort just before Christmas with her twin. It’s worth pointing out that WDWNT initially reported about this incident.
When speaking to law enforcement, each had a different version of events and blamed each other for starting the altercation.
Cassidy said the fight started at 10:30pm because she left the TV on, and her sister, who was trying to go to bed, got up and yanked the power lead/plug from the wall.
The unnanmed sister then allegedly punched Cassidy. The force of the punch knocked her to the ground, and she hit her head on the TV cabinet.
Cassidy got up and went into the bathroom to call 911, she later showed injuries to deputies. The left side of her jaw was swollen, and she had scratches on her neck, chest, and wrist. Cassidy refused to go to the hospital.
An Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputy (deputy) spoke to Cassidy’s unnamed sister, who also had scratches. Her version of events started when Cassidy dropped a metal water bottle on her own toe and then tried to blame her.
Cassidy then started yelling and cursing at her, so she put white noise on to go to sleep. This made Cassidy angrier and led her to raise the volume on the TV.
They got into a verbal argument, which is when the unnamed sister pulled the power lead/plug out of the wall. This is when things got physical.
Cassidy pushed her, so she fell backward onto the bed. The unnamed sister pushed Cassidy off her, but Cassidy grabbed her by the neck. She pushed her once again, which is when Cassidy fell and hit her head.
Cassidy yelled at her sister to get out of the room and then called for help. The bed in their hotel room had been moved, according to on scene deputy.
According to WDWNT’s article on the incident, the sheriff’s office believed the unnamed sister and Cassidy was arrested. She pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge last month and was ordered not to communicate with her sister (according to court order).
