Future of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit Could Be in Question Following Recent Change

As with any kind of rumour, this information should be considered unofficial until Universal Orlando officially confirms.

Theme Park Tourist published an article yesterday which suggests the future of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Florida could be in question following the recent change (find out more here).

“Though there has been no official reason given for why this change was made, it’s not hard to see how licensing just 5 [five] song as opposed to 30 could save the company some serious money when it comes to operating this attraction.”

Additional quote:

“Given this, it stands to reason if Universal is introducing cost-cutting measures for the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit that could be a strong indication that perhaps this ride simply isn’t as popular as it once was, which could mean that Universal [Orlando] could be considering the idea of removing or replacing this ride sometime in the near future.”

It’s worth noting that every time the e-ticket Universal Studios Florida attraction closes for refurbishment, there’s always a rumour suggesting it will either be rethemed or replaced (it’s fair to say all have been debunked).

However, the recent change may be the catalyst for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit closing. If it does happen, it won’t happen until other projects (including Epic Universe) are completed.

Once again, as with any kind of rumour, this information should be considered unofficial until Universal Orlando officially confirms.
