“It’s OK. Just come to me, princess.”
The opening sentence of this article is what a man said to a Walt Disney World Cast Member in an attempted kidnapping after he grabbed her at the end of her shift last month, according to a recently released Orange County Sheriff’s Office report (via WDWNT).
Authorities were unable to locate and identify the man when the Cast Member reported it to law enforcement the following morning. She didn’t appear to be injured and declined medical treatment, according to the established outlet.
The attempted kidnapping occurred on the 3rd July, 2023, The incident took place in the Cast Member parking lot near Overpass Road and Backstage Lane.
“As [the woman] made her way towards an area of the parking lot that is separated by a drainage ditch, she observed a White/Hispanic man lean out the driver’s side window of his car. The White/Hispanic man then grabbed around her waist with both of his arms and pulled her towards his driver’s side window,” the report said (via WDWNT). “She began to scream loudly, she elbowed the white Hispanic man in the head until he let go of her then she ran away.”
When the man released her, that’s when he told the woman, “It’s OK. Just come to me, princess,” the Cast Member reportedly said. The man sped off toward the north side exit of the parking lot, and the Cast Member ran to her car.
The terrified Cast Member called her mother. Her mother urged her to report what happened, according to the report (via WDWNT). The Cast Member contacted Disney Security and later spoke with sheriff’s office deputies the following morning, 4th July, 2023.
She described the man as bald and possibly in his 40s or 50s. He drove a dark sedan, however, she didn’t see the license plate.
“At this time, I am unable to locate or identify a suspect,” the sheriff’s deputy wrote in the report (via WDWNT). “According to [the woman], a White/Hispanic man did knowingly and intentionally grab around her waist, without her permission, and forcibly attempted to pull her into his vehicle. This case is pending further investigative leads.”
If the man is found, the Cast Member said she wants to press criminal charges. Stay tuned for possible updates.
