We were the first to initially report the date of Splash Mountain’s closure.
Disney has announced that Splash Mountain at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom will close permanently on the 23rd January, 2023.
During its closure, Splash Mountain will be “transformed” (aka rethemed) into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and should reopen in late 2024.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was first announced in 2020, but the name of the attraction and opening timeframe was only revealed this summer. More details about the new attraction were revealed at this year’s D23 Expo.
