We love moments like this!

Yesterday evening, Harry Potter fans unofficially gathered in front of Hogwarts Castle in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal’s Islands of Adventure to honour the passing of Robbie Coltrane.

Coltrane, who portrayed Hagrid in all of the Harry Potter films, died at the age of 72 yesterday.

Fans raised their wands to the sky in front of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey to honour the gifted actor.

As you can see in the above photo, some fans raised pink umbrellas. Hagrid would use a pink umbrella to conduct limited amounts of magic in the books and films.

Back in 2016, a similar gathering took place when Alan Rickman passed away. In case you don’t know, Rickman portrayed Severus Snape in the films.

The custom of raising wands originated in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to honour the passing of Albus Dumbledore.

Update: Our good friends at ThrillGeek have posted a rather moving video of the gathering. You can watch the video, which has accumulated almost 400,000 views, below:
