Disneyland Raises Price of Disney Genie+ [Update]

Disneyland has raised the price of their Disney Genie+ service from $20 to $25 (a $5 increase ahead of the upcoming holiday season).

The price increase comes after Disneyland added PhotoPass Lenses to the service. However, the price increase isn’t directly related to the lenses.

With that being said, will Walt Disney World increase the price of Disney Genie+? That’s the question we have right now.

At this time, Disney World’s version of Disney Genie+ costs $15, $10 cheaper than Disneyland’s version.

“Arguably, the product here is worse due to less Lightning Lane availability because the Genie+ product appears to be utilized more at Walt Disney World. In short, demand is higher than supply, but in the case of Disney Genie+ at Walt Disney World, it’s almost a necessity.”

As of publishing this article, Disney Genie+ remains $15 per person, per day at Walt Disney World. However, that price was previously known to be an introductory rate.

Stay tuned for further updates including a potential increase for the Walt Disney World Disney Genie+ service.

Update: Following the news that Disneyland has increased the price of Disney Genie+ service, they have also introduced variable pricing for the service ($25 per person, per day is the base price rate).

“In addition to getting all of the great features that come with the complimentary Disney Genie service, purchasing Disney Genie+ service offers even more convenience and flexibility, starting at $25.00 USD per ticket per day. Prices vary by date.

Disney Genie+ service is available for purchase as an add-on with new ticket or vacation packages before your visit, or as a single-day purchase for existing ticket holders through the Disneyland app on the day of your park visit.”
