Following months of work on the left elevator shaft at the Hollywood Tower Hotel, the Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is operating at “full” capacity.
The iconic Hollywood Studios attraction is running both sides of the elevators after months of refurbishment going back to February, however, Cast Members have suggested that the right side will close at some point in the near future to have similar work done.
Officially, Disney has never acknowledged the work because the Tower of Terror has remained open, even though it was operating at a reduced capacity.
According to data from thrill-data.com, the Tower of Terror averaged an 82-minute wait yesterday, down from an average of 115 minutes since the refurbishment started in early February, 2022.
Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane availability has lasted longer yesterday than it has done in recent months, suggesting an “uptick” in its capacity.
It’s still possible that the attraction isn’t running smoothly (or at full capacity) as yesterday’s average of 82 minutes still outpaces the 51-minute average in 2021. It also outpaces the 2022 park-wide average versus last year also.
If you’re visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the remainder of this year, we would highly suggest that you plan for high wait times for Tower of Terror.
