Height Requirement for Ice Breaker at SeaWorld Orlando Allegedly Increased [Update]

Credit: Attractions Magazine

Original Article: According to several posts on Twitter, the height requirement for Ice Breaker, SeaWorld Orlando’s newest roller coaster, has allegedly been increased.

Initially, Ice Breaker had a 48-inch height requirement (source). However, the attraction now has a 54-inch height requirement (as shown in the above/below post).

SeaWorld Orlando labelled Ice Breaker as a “family thrill” ride, however, this alleged height requirement increase effectively rules out younger family members from riding.

Ice Breaker officially opened yesterday, 18th February. As of publishing this article, we’ve reached out to SeaWorld Orlando for comment.

Update: SeaWorld Orlando have released the following statement regarding the adjustment:

“Ice Breaker is one of the most anticipated coasters of 2022 and it has been extremely popular among guests since opening Feb. 18.  We are experiencing some operational issues with smaller riders and so out of an abundance of caution, we raised the height requirement from 48 inches to 54 inches for the time being as we work with the manufacturer and safety professionals to make adjustments.  Ensuring our guests have a safe and thrilling experience in our park remains our top priority”
