The fireworks you’re about to watch are the first to be launched from Walt Disney World following the Coronavirus (COVID-19) shutdown.

Tonight (U.S. EST), after-hours fireworks testing took place at EPCOT, and established outlet WDWNT managed to catch it all on video. Watch below:

Before delving into the details, it’s unclear whether this fireworks test was tied to EPCOT’s new nighttime spectacular Harmonious, the return of fireworks to the parks, or general show maintenance.

Here’s a brief overview of the test:

Around 9:12pm (U.S. EST), the fireworks testing started. According to WDWNT’s Jessica Figueroa, fireworks were launched in two to four intervals at first.

No obvious background music could be heard from the location the above video was caught from, which was a bridge over the waterway connecting Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort to the International Gateway.

By around 10:00pm, most of the “more impressive” fireworks had been launched. Within the next half an hour, low-lying fireworks and bursts, which could barely seen over the foliage were launched.

An opening date for EPCOT’s new nighttime spectacular is still unknown following delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown. Stay tuned to Orlando Theme Park Zone for more.
