Loews Sapphire Falls Resort and Universal’s Aventura Hotel Temporarily Closing [Update]

Update 3: Universal Orlando will be keeping Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, Universal’s Aventura Hotel, and Universal\s Endless Summer Resort – Dockside In and Suites closed for the rest of 2020.

If you’re a guest who has a booking at any of the above mentioned resorts, you’ll be relocated to one the remaining open resorts. Universal has not announced when these resorts will reopen. Stay tuned to Orlando Theme Park Zone.


Update 2: Guests booked at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort within the period of closure have the received the following email:

“Loews Sapphire Falls has temporarily suspended operations, and we’d like to assist you in modifying your upcoming reservation to enjoy a complimentary upgrade to a Premier Hotel during your stay, Hard Rock Hotel or Loews Royal Pacific Resort, and the additional theme park benefits that come with staying at a Premier Hotel for this inconvenience. If you prefer, you may also modify your travel dates for a future stay at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort.”

Guests booked at Universal’s Aventura Hotel within the period of closure have received the following email:

“Universal’s Aventura Hotel has temporarily suspended operations, and we’d like to assist you in modifying your upcoming reservation to enjoy Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort. If you prefer, you may also modify your travel dates. We wish to extend at $50 Hotel Dining Credit to use at select hotel dining outlets during your stay of 2+ nights, because of any inconvenience this may have caused.”


Update: Official statement from Universal:

“We continue to evaluate our offerings and have decided to consolidate our hotel operations as we continue to manage through current conditions. We will be operating the Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Cabana Bay Beach Resort, and Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites and temporarily suspending operations at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort and Universal”s Aventura Hotel as of August 21st. Guests with reservations at Sapphire Falls or Aventura will be accommodated at our other hotels.”


Original Article: Both Loews Sapphire Falls Resort and Universal’s Aventura Hotel at Universal Orlando Resort will be temporarily closing on the 21st August.

A reopening date for both resorts is unknown at this time.

Guests who will be impacted by the temporary closures are being given the option to either change to another resort or modify their dates for a future stay.
