Face Character Greetings Reduced to “Guest-less” Photos at Tokyo Disney Resort

-

We reported yesterday that face Character greetings around Tokyo Disney Resort (TDR), including Ariel’s Greeting Grotto (AGG), had been suspended entirely until further notice.

We’ve learnt today (via WDWNT’s Spencer Lloyd) that this is not the case.

Face Characters are no longer greeting individual guests. However, they will come out and greet groups with no one-to-one interaction.

Videos have emerged on Twitter showing multiple face Characters greeting guests at TDR today, including Prince Charming at the Tokyo Disneyland (TDL) entrance and Merida in Mediterranean Harbor at Tokyo DisneySea (TDS).

At TDS this morning, Merida greeted guests in the Café Portofino seating area (even though separated by a bush). Guests could interact, wave and take pictures of her.

However, guests couldn’t come in direct contact with her or take pictures together. Other reports from around TDR on Twitter suggested similar behaviours for face Character greetings like Peter Pan, Prince Charming and Alice. AGG remains closed at this time.
