This year’s Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend kicked off yesterday morning at Epcot. 13,500 runners made their way around the theme park for the first event of the weekend, the 5K.
The marathon weekend is Central Florida’s biggest sporting event, bringing more than 75,000 runners and spectators to Orlando.
A runDisney spokesperson said they come from all over, adding that it’s a special race because for many of the runners, it’s their first race ever.
This year will have lots of new surprises for them along the course!
