E.T. the Extra Terrestrial and his best friend Elliott have returned in a somewhat short film sequel of sorts, and E.T. are overjoyed.
The new video is part of a promotion by Comcast NBCUniversal’s Xfinity division. They’re calling the short film, A Reunion 3 Million Light Years in The Making.
Not only has E.T. returned, but Henry Thomas, the actor who played the little boy who befriended ET, has returned to play the adult version of Elliot.
E.T. meets Elliot’s family and has a blast with his kids, trying some of the new technologies that have come out since E.T. last visited, which was 37 years ago.
Technologies include: virtual reality, Xfinity apps (of course) and a voice controlled remote. E.T. also tried some old favourites like Reese’s Pieces, however in cupcake form.
Enthusiasts of the E.T. Adventure ride at Universal Studios Florida have met some of E.T.’s family already, however you’ll see one of his family members in this new short film. You’ll see a different version of the iconic bike riding across the sky scene.
Even though the world has changed since they’ve last seen each other, E.T. and Elliot’s enduring friendship prompts all of us how critical it is to reconnect during the holiday season.
Watch the video during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC, you’ll want to watch the full version (with more footage) below.
