Even though this “project” has not yet been announced officially, construction is well underway for the new Jurassic Park themed roller coaster (coaster) at Universal’s Islands of Adventure (Islands of Adventure).

Earlier this month, Alicia Stella of Orlando Park Stop reported that the track and supports for the new coaster have turned up off-site in a staging area. See in the photos below:

Rumoured to be called “Velocicoaster1”, the new coaster is expected to have at least two launches, several inversions and even a coaster top-hat2. The new coaster, rumoured to be opening in Spring of 20211.1, is not replacing anything.

The coaster is being built in the previous location of the former Triceratops Encounter. Portions of the coaster’s track will pass in front of the Discovery Center and the north section of Islands of Adventure’s lagoon.
