Man Arrested for Inappropriately Touching Child at Magic Kingdom

A 50-year-old man was arrested after deputies revealed he touched a child inappropriately at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) arrested James Jones after he allegedly touched a child in an inappropriate manner inside the Ye Old Christmas Shop.

OCSO deputies revealed the child involved told their mother and they reported the incident to guest relations where deputies were called to search for Jones.

During the investigation of this incident, Disney security informed OCSO deputies of another incident of someone touching a child.

Deputies revealed the victim in this incident reported that a man touched them while exiting the Stretching Room (pre-show) portion of The Haunted Mansion. 

Jones was arrested and charged with lewd or lascivious molestation, according to reports. According to arrest documents, officials have a screenshot where Jones is allegedly seen touching the child inside the Ye Old Christmas Shop.

Investigators involved in the case believe Jones is also the suspect in The Haunted Mansion incident. The case remains under investigation.

A judge set the 50-year-old’s bail to $50,000 and ordered him to not return to Disney property or any other place where children congregate. Disney released the following statement on the incident:

“We take these kinds of allegations seriously, and when we became aware of the allegations, we engaged law enforcement. He has been trespassed from Walt Disney World.”
