Guests Trapped on Disney Skyliner After Gondolas Collide at Riviera Resort Station

Walt Disney World Resorts guests were trapped on Disney’s new gondola transportation system, the Disney Skyliner, after an accident happened at the Riviera Resort Skyliner Station.

After the Disney Skyliner came to a stop whilst transporting guests to and from Walt Disney World hotels and theme parks, guests took to social media – Twitter in particular – to voice their concerns. 

As stated in the headline of this article, the accident happened at the Disney Skyliner station at Disney’s Riviera Resort, where a handful of gondolas collided with one another. 

It is still unclear what caused the accident, however Walt Disney World have yet to release a statement regarding the incident. Local news stations reported the incident that it is the result of a a power failure. 

A number of guests were “inquiring” on Twitter regarding the status of the Disney Skyliner. Some guests responded with photos of the accident, which made the rounds on Twitter and Facebook.

Reportedly, guests travelling on the Disney Skyliner gondola transportation system were trapped inside their gondolas for upwards of an hour and half before officials came to the rescue. The Reedy Creek Fire Department started evacuating guests between 9:30pm and 10:00pm (U.S. time) last night using a truck and ladder. 

Some guests were told to open the emergency kits located inside the gondola cabins which reportedly include bottles of water, cleansing wipes and more.  

Guests trapped continued to post photos and videos to Twitter and Facebook, documenting the Disney Skyliner evacuation process. Videos in particular:

As of almost 11:00pm (U.S. time) last night, evacuations were reportedly still underway. However, Blog Mickey put out the below tweet around 1`hour ago;
