On the evening of February 12th, 2024, the Orlando Police Department responded to the Universal Studios Store within CityWalk at Universal Orlando Resort.
Undercover store security had identified a family who was shoplifting. Security witnessed the father instructing his two children to select and hide merchandise in reusable shopping bags, and take the bags to their mother, who was waiting outside the store.
This case is now closed. The suspect received a plea agreement for the reduced charge of misdemeanour petty theft. He was given a fine, ordered not to return to Universal Orlando, and given credit for the two days spent in jail prior to bailing out.
