Doctor Died Shortly After Eating Dinner at Disney Springs Restaurant,  Recently Filed Lawsuit Alleges

-

According to a recently filed lawsuit, a medical doctor died shortly after she was served a meal at a Disney Springs restaurant. The tragic incident occurred after having dinner at Raglan Road Irish Pub (Raglan Road).

Jeffrey Piccolo filed the lawsuit against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts after his wife, Kanokporn Tangsuan, suddenly died. Tangsuan was a doctor at NYU Langone in New York, according to Fox 35 Orlando (F35O).

On the evening of the 5th October, 2023, Piccolo, his mother, and Tangsuan stopped at Raglan Road to enjoy a meal.

Tangsuan, who was highly allergic to dairy and nuts, asked the wait stuff multiple times if they were able to make allergen-free-food, which they confirmed they could, the lawsuit stated (via F35O).

The lawsuit also claimed that Disney advertises and represents to the public that food allergies and/or the accommodation of persons with food allergies are a “top priority” at its parks and resorts.

A broccoli and corn fritter, scallops and onions were some of the items Tangsuan ordered that night. After dinner, the group split to go shopping at different stores at Disney Springs.

Approximately  45 minutes later, Tangsuan entered Planet Hollywood where she began having severe difficulty breathing and collapsed. Even though an epi-pen was administered to her immediately, she sadly and ultimately died at a local hospital.

The medical examiner’s investigaton revealed she died as a result of anaphylaxis due to “elevated levels of dairy and nut in her system,” the lawsuit alleges (via F35O).

Piccolo is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 in pursuant to Florida’s wrongful death act, in addition to mental pain and suffering, loss of income and funeral expense.

The lawsuit alleges (via F35O) that the restaurant failed to educate, train and or instruct its employees to make sure food, indicated as allergen free or requested to be made allergen free, was in fact free of allergens.
