Despite numerous signs and announcements, influencers flouted Universal Orlando’s no filming rules during the technical rehearsals of Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast.
Hours after the upcoming Universal Studios Florida attraction opened for technical rehearsals on the 15th July, 2023, point-of-view videos emerged online. We will not include the videos as we don’t want your experienced ruined.
Whilst many in the video’s comments appreciate what the creators have produced, the actions/ethics of the influencers upset many in the theme park community. On the above-mentioned date, Twitter user @ThemeParkExpress tweeted the following:
“There’s literally no excuse. These signs were EVERYWHERE! And the TMs were constantly making announcements in the queue and personally talking to guests with phones out. If you film the whole queue and ride and post it then it’s just blatant disrespect to @UniversalORL and TMs!”

It’s fair to suggest that the actions of the influencers could affect others who follow the rules in covering the Universal Orlando theme parks. We’ll just have to wait and see!
Update: Since the publication of this article, some point-of-view videos have been removed. Again, we will not name the influencers.
