Ever since the new attraction opened, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (SW: ROTR) has used a boarding system which required guests to enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Hollywood Studios) and then get a boarding group in the My Disney Experience app in order to ride SW: ROTR.
HOWEVER! Hollywood Studios has been unofficially opening anywhere from 30 – 120 minutes ahead of the park’s scheduled opening, essentially allowing guests to grab a boarding group way before Hollywood Studios official opening time. With that being said, things have gone differently today.
While the park allowed guests in before the official 7:00am opening time (some entered at 6:30am), Cast Members informed guests that they wouldn’t be able to join a boarding group until 7:00am. Furthermore, the attractions in Hollywood Studios did not open before the scheduled opening time either.
At this time, it’s unclear if this is a one-day policy change or if it will be the way the process works from now on. However, we’ll keep an eye on this. Stay tuned to Orlando Theme Park Zone for SW: ROTR operational changes.
