Disney has temporarily modified the Let the Magic Begin welcome show at the Magic Kingdom as work on Cinderella Castle gets underway. Here’s everything you need to know!
A notice explaining the modification was posted on the My Disney Experience app. You can read the notice Disney posted below:
“Cinderella Castile is currently undergoing a magical transformation. Due to project work, Let The Magic Begin will be temporarily modified. While characters will not be making an appearance during this time, you will still hear the welcome fanfare and music to start your day at the Magic Kingdom.”

Guests will still have the opportunity to experience the welcome fanfare and music when the Magic Kingdom opens. However, characters will not appear on the Cinderella Castle stage.
The modification accommodates the ongoing Cinderella Castle work. Disney is repainting the iconic castle with a new colour palette inspired by its classic/original appearance.
The first part of this project will be draining the moat surrounding Cinderella Castle. This will allow crew access to lower portions of the castle and prepare the areas that need painting.
Cranes will be used to reach higher sections of Cinderella Castle. Disney hopes to lower and remove the cranes from view by noon each day, limiting the impact on daytime park guests’ experiences and photos.
Let’s swiftly go over the other entertainment changes because of the repainting project.
Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire’s schedule has also been modified. Starting on the 28th January, 2027, the show runs at afternoon-only times: 1:00pm, 2:05pm, 4:00pm, and 5:15pm. Happily Ever After will continue with only slight modifications.
Disney hasn’t confirmed when Let the Magic Begin will return to its normal format with characters appearing.
There is currently no end date for the entertainment changes, but they’re expected to remain in place whilst exterior work on the castle continues. Additionally, there is currently no completion date for the project.
