Disney has changed the start date for the upcoming Pete’s Silly Sideshow refurbishment at the Magic Kingdom. Work will now start one day earlier, with the Storybook Circus location closing on the 4th January, 2025.
FYI: Pete’s Silly Sideshow was originally meant to close on the 5th January, 2025.
During Pete’s Silly Sideshow closure, guests will still be able to meet Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, and Goofy. However, the iconic characters will meet and greet guests elsewhere in Storybook Circus.
The change of the refurbishment’s start date follows the filing of two new permits tied to the Storybook Circus tents. The permits list Birdair, Inc., as the assigned contractor and extend through the 31st December, 2026.
The permits insinuate that a significant work involving circus-themed tensile fabric structures, which house Pete’s Silly Sideshow and Big Top Souvenirs, will be carried out.
The tents were last refurbished back in 2021. To help protect against the Florida sunshine, new coatings were applied to the fabric on the roof of the tents.
Disney hasn’t confirmed how long the Pete’s Silly Sideshow meet and greets will remain unavailable. Stay tuned for further updates.
