A woman from North Carolina filed a lawsuit yesterday (18th December, 2025) claiming she sustained “severe and permanent injuries” after riding Stardust Racers at Universal’s Epic Universe.

Debbie Reinelt alleges that she required medical care after experiencing dizziness, headache and nausea after riding Stardust Racers on the 5th May, 2025, during previews of Universal’s Epic Universe.

The lawsuit was filed days after the Orange County Sheriff’s Office released a report concluding Kevin Rodriguez Zavala died “accidentally” after being found unresponsive on Stardust Racers.

Reinelt does not mention Zavala in her lawsuit. However, she alleges her head was “violently shaken” on Stardust Racers.

A woman who had (changed profile name) the same forename and surname as Reinelt on Facebook posted photos (screenshot below) of herself at Universal’s Epic Universe the very same day the alleged injury happened. You can read the caption for the photos and below:

“Very good day full of roller coasters. And the butter beer is good! Non-alcoholic too. The mead there was alcohol and delicious.”

As you can see in the above screenshot, there is no mention of any injuries. Stay tuned as more photos will be posted.

Reinelt is being represented by Nicholas Spetsas. This is the same lawyer who represented a guest who filed a similar lawsuit back in September.
