The guest who died after he was found unresponsive on Stardust Racers at Universal’s Epic Universe last week was described as a theme park enthusiast who was fully independent despite a spinal cord injury and the use of a wheelchair.
“We have to know what happened [to Kevin Rodriguez Zavala,” famous civil rights attorney Ben Crump said in a news conference today (via WESH 2 NEWS).
“No medical emergency, he was just fine,” Crump said about Zavala the night he got on Stardust Racers.
Crump says the family must know what happened to Zavala. He insists Zavala’s spinal condition had nothing to do with his death.
The civil rights attorney added Zavala was able to drive and had a bachelor’s degree. Funeral services have been arranged for Friday. Stay tuned for further updates as more details will be revealed.
Zavala’s family have started a GoFundMe fundraiser to help cover funeral and memorial costs. You can find out more about the fundraiser here.
