A letter sent to Universal Orlando Team Members following the death of a guest found unresponsive on Stardust Racers at Universal’s Epic Universe has emerged online.

Universal Orlando President & COO Karen Irwin said, “Our hearts are with our guests family and loved ones, and with all of you who have been impacted by this tragic loss.”

Irwin states that internal findings to date confirm that the ride systems “functioned as intended, equipment was intact at the ride’s start, throughout the duration of the ride upon the ride vehicle’s return to station.”

The letter tells Tam Members to be mindful that this is an ongoing investigation. Stay tuned for further updates.

Kevin Rodrigez Zavalaa was found unresponsive on Stardust Racers and was pronounced dead at hospital later, according to Universal Orlando officials.

The Orange County Medical Examiner confirmed that the death was accident, naming multiple blunt impact injuries as cause of death. You can find out more about the incident in the related links below:
