Disney has today revealed that DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will permanently close on the 2nd February, 2026. The last day to experience both will be the 1st February, 2026. With that being said, Let’s delve into the details!

Restaurantosaurus

With Restaurantosaurus closing, Disney has announced that several of its menu items will move to Harambe Market in early 2026. To prepare for the new menu items, Harambe Market will temporarily close for refurbishment. Stay tuned for updates as refurbishment dates have not been announced.

DinoLand U.S.A. Meet and Greets

The final day to see Donald Duck, Daisey Duck, and Chip ‘n’ Dale in their DinoLand costumes will be the 1st February, 2026. Starting on the 2nd February, 2026, the characters will be relocated to a new aera in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Stay tuned for more details

DinoLand U.S.A. Closure Timeline

This final round of closures follows previous rounds for the Tropical Americas expansion/land:

  • 12th January, 2025: TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures closed.
  • 2nd September, 2025: The Boneyard closes permanently

Tropical Americas Expansion/Land

The above closures are part of the transformation of DinoLand U.S.A into Tropical Americas, an all-new 11-acre land inspired by the vibrant landscapes, wildlife, and cultures of Central and Sourth America.

Tropical Americas will include: Encanto ride-through attraction, thrilling Indiana Jones-themed attraction, a carousel, and one of Walt Disney World’s largest quick-service dining location.

The new land is set to open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2027. Tropical Americas was announced at D23 (you can find out more here). This is the first time we’ve reported about Tropical Americas, stay tuned for more content.
