A Magic Kingdom ferryboat reportedly ran into the dock at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) during a storm on Wednesday night.
The General Joe Potter ferryboat reportedly hit the TTC dock at 11:40 on the 30th July, 2025. According to PulsePoint, there was a mutual aid call at 12:02am. The call was closed at 2:06am.
FYI: Mutual Aid in this case refers to mutual assistance from multiple agencies across jurisdictional boundaries, especially when the emergency is too much for agency to handle.
There were allegedly 19 transports to local hospitals, with at least eight people having major injuries. According to eyewitness reports on social media, dozens were treated on site.
Guests who claim to have been on the ferryboat have posted in the comments of a Reddit thread about the incident. u/RockyDiMeo started the thread ‘The ferry boat from Magic Kingdom to TTC crashed while I was on it’ with the following:
“Very scare scene. Happened about 11:40pm during a heavy storm. Boat was approaching the TTC dock when the boat came to a sudden and complete stop, throwing every passenger forward.”
“I was on that ferry!!! It was insane. People thrown forward all around. No warning, just a loud crash and sudden stop approaching the dock. I think they hit the cement jetty,” u/ CarelessAlgae6662 said.
u/Silver_Profile_4108 said, “It was scary. We were right down the front and could see it heading toward the dock and it wasn’t getting any slower. Luckily we were able to brace for impact but then got crushed by a surge of people from behind.”
According to WDWNT, the General Joe Potter was moved to a dry dock for evaluation. At ths time, it’s unclear if the incident was caused by the storm, human error, or mechanical malfunction. Stay tuned for possible updates.
Update: Several guests onboard at the time of the crash have spoken to Fox 35 Orlando:

“Suddenly we crashed into something and we all went flying forward, falling. The stroller landed on its back causing the girls to hit their heads. A lot of people [were] screaming and really hurt bad. We got the girls out and they docked. And honestly that is when it all went downhill. Not only was there no announcement on what to do when injured they just had us get off the boat.”

“I have loved Disney all my life but the way the handled the situation was unacceptable. We were left all left in the dark. There was no announcement made after hitting whatever we hit at full speed. The captain was not apologetic whatsoever. Every single person on the packed ferry was thrown forward.”
