“The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad refurbishment work is moving along quickly. Just a few moments ago, crews used a crane to lift and remove a massive piece of track. The ride closed on Monday and is set to open next year at Magic Kingdom.”

The removal of this piece of track appears to confirm Blog Mickey’s rumour about the refurbishment. According to the established outlet, the rumour suggested that the iconic Magic Kingdom attraction would undergo a track replacement.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed on 6th January, 2025, and is set to reopen in 2026. Construction walls were swiftly erected around the attraction after the Magic Kingdom closed on the 5th January, 2025.
You can find out more about the refurbishment itself here.
