Have Crocs been banned on escalators at Walt Disney World? Absolutely not, don’t believe everything you read online. A post on X (see below) showed stickers on some escalators which suggested guests couldn’t wear Crocs on them.
So, is this true? Is this a new thing?
Several incidents involving Crocs and escalators have occurred at Walt Disney World (stories linked below). The issue has gained extensive attention after an article highlighted the precautionary measures. According to Fox 35 Orlando (F35O), this isn’t new and dates back to at least 2014.

The stickers were added 10 years ago as a general safety reminder, according to F35O. The stickers didn’t purposely target Crocs. The Main Street Mouse’s Michele Atwood told F35O that she believes it’s a safety step, especially for children who may not lift their feet properly on the escalators.
“I think it’s a precaution. Maybe if it’s a child, you know, they don’t pick up their feet on the escalator, and it’s possible that it could get stuck because it’s such lightweight rubber. But I have not seen it as a problem.”

Crocs are permitted within the park premises and allowed on all rides, according to F35O (via unnamed Walt Disney World-related forum). However, the information F35O obtained states that Crocs shouldn’t be worn on escalators inside EPCOT’s Land Pavilion, Disney Springs parking garage escalators, etc.
