According to WDWNT, Skull Island: Reign of Kong at Universal’s Islands of Adventure is no longer a 3D experience.

Photo #1 is the previous “listing” for Skull Island: Reign of Kong, which described it as a “3-D/4-D Experience.” Photo #2 is the updated “listing”, which describes it as a thrill ride.
The film portions of Skull Island: Reign of Kong have become 2D and no longer require 3D glasses, according to the established outlet. Could this change have been part of Universal Orlando‘s budget cuts? WDWNT seems to think it was.
“This is most likely a cost-saving measure and will eliminate several positions that involve washing and racking up the 3D glasses between uses.”
Annie Wilson, WDWNT
The attraction started operating strictly in B mode, according to the established outlet. B mode is an alternate path that skips the outdoor portion of the ride.
Update: This X post really caught our attention:
Update #2: According to Inside Universal, Universal has temporarily removed 3D from the attraction for “testing purposes.” According to the established outlet, this change will last until the 9th March, 2024.
