A guest jumped off a Tom Sawyer Island raft and into Rivers of America at the Magic Kingdom yesterday afternoon.
The photo below shows the man in the water. The photo was posted in the Annual Passholder – Walt Disney World Resort Facebook group by Jennifer Jarrell, according to Inside The Magic.

She told Inside The Magic that the incident occurred around 2:30pm on the 31st January, 2024. “We watched him refuse to swim to the side after they threw him a life preserver,” Jarrell said.
She added, “I heard a Cast Member on the phone say he’s going to be in big trouble. I first thought he fell but later heard that no he actually jumped.”
At this time, it’s unclear what repercussions the guest faced once he eventually got out of the water. Stay tuned for possible updates.

Update: A comment on our post offered a different version of the incident…According to Facebook user Robert Xela, the guest used assisting mobile devices and when he was boarding he slipped in.
He couldn’t get back to the raft because he couldn’t really use his legs and the current in the water was pulling him away from it. Others have insisted that guest jumped in. Stay tuned for further updates.
