We didn’t expect this! SeaWorld Entertainment will soon have a new name.
The Orlando, Florida-based theme park operator revealed yesterday that its corporate name will become United Parks & Resorts, starting on the 12th February, 2024.
“Our new company name, United Parks & Resorts Inc., better reflects that we have been and will continue to be a diverse collection of park brands and experiences,” Marc Swanson, Chief Executive Officer, said in a statement.
SeaWorld, soon to be named United Parks, operates 12 parks across the United States, as well as one park in Abu Dhabi. It’s worth pointing out the name change will not affect the names of SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Aquatica etc.
“What also remains unchanged is our deep commitment to creating experiences that matter for our guests and inspiring them to help protect animals and the wild wonders of the world,” Swanson said.
The stock symbol for SeaWorld on the New York Stock Exchange will change from SEAS to PRKS on the 13th February, 2024. It’s also worth pointing out that company’s main website will become unitedparks.com the same day.
