Just a short walking distance from Disneyland, a sexual assault suspect was shot and killed by police.
According to police, officers were trying to arrest 29-year-old Luis Munoz in the 300 block of W. Orangewood Avenue at approximately 1:00pm. Officials said Munoz ran away and officers chased him.
Munoz was confronted in the area of Harbor Boulevard and Orangewood Avenue, and that’s where he was shot. Munoz died at the scene.
Authorities recovered a large knife at the scene. They believe it belonged to Munoz. No officers were injured.
The location of the police investigation is on the same block as the Toy Story parking lot, as well as a couple blocks away from Disney California Adventure.
It’s worth noting that the police investigation is not taking place at neither Disneyland nor any of Disney’s properties. The Orange County District Attorney’s Office is investigating.
