According to Fox 35 Orlando, a guest has filed a lawsuit against Walt Disney World after a ride down Humunga Kowabunga at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon led to an injurious wedgie that landed her in the hospital.
The guest is suing Disney for over $50,000 after a 30th birthday trip went terribly wrong, according to the established outlet. Back in 2019, the guest and the rest of her party rode the Humunga Kowabunga water slide.
According to the lawsuit (via Fox 35 Orlando), the guest “assumed the appropriate position to ride the slide as instructed.”
As the guest came to the end of the water slide, her body lifted up and became airborne. She was then slammed downward against the slide, her attorney states (via Fox 35 Orlando).
The impact caused the guest’s clothing to be “painfully forced between her legs and for the water to be violently forced inside her,” according to the lawsuit (via Fox 35 Orlando).
The guest was taken to a local hospital for treatment and then taken to another hospital for the repair of her “gynecologic” injuries.
The guest’s attorney states (via Fox 35 Orlando) that had she been warned by Cast Members that there was a risk of using the slide with the swimwear she had on she wouldn’t have ridden the water slide.
